Hi, I’m Daniel Hastings, Designer/Builder/Founder of Husk.
Husk is a design/build general contractor focused on residential and rural exteriors. Our clients rely on us for creative thinking, professional communication, and high quality work on all types of exterior projects. Since opening 2019 we have completed over 250 projects, become A-rated by the Better Business Bureau and become a certified pro contractor with trusted brands like Timbertech, Trex, Sylvanix and more.
I have a 30 year history in design, building and management and I am deeply inspired by the geography of the Pacific Northwest. I strive to bring a complimentary aesthetic into every project we do. I also ensure that we build for longevity, understanding that our work must withstand the pressures of our increasingly volatile environment.

Finished this beautiful front porch makeover today. We choose these TimberTech composite railings for their classic style and proportions. And, they never have to be painted! The new finish on old cedar decking looks clean, and new trim and paint on the ceiling finishes it all off. Beautiful day for final pics!

Kicking off another classic porch restoration. We`re removing an older extension, replacing about half of the cedar, building new steps and installing some beautiful composite railings. Taking it back to an original look with modern materials that will greatly reduce maintenance.

Getting started on a backside redesign. Will be working with some of the original architectural features to keep its 1926 feel. Soffit & fascia, moldings and tapered columns, etc. Going to be a fun one!
